Langzauner produces and develops customised presses and automation systems for processing carbon fibre-reinforced and glass fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP/GFRP) in various sizes and expansion stages. All systems and presses are tailored exactly to the customers’ needs.
Carbon fibre-reinforced or glass fibre-reinforced plastic has the strength properties of steel, but a much lower weight and is also corrosion-resistant. This is why this lightweight material is being used more and more in the aircraft and automotive industries. However, the manufacturing process of CFRP and GFRP components takes longer than that of steel components.
With Langzauner’s presses and automation systems, efficient and cost-effective processing of CFRP and GFRP is possible. Time-saving loading and unloading is achieved by gripper systems and robots. High pressure accuracy and uniform pressing with pressing forces of up to 5,000 tonnes result in high-quality components with low tolerances. Parallel control of the ram prevents uncontrolled tilting of the upper tool and thus enables uniform resin injection. In this way, there are no different wall thicknesses on one component.
