Christmas is full of shiny things… at the Langzauner Advent market

The Advent market at Langzauner, which took place for the 2nd time, was once again held this year in the spirit of family entertainment.

Visit from St. Nicholas at the Advent market

A highlight, especially for the younger visitors to the market, was the visit from St. Nicholas. The authentic arrival by forklift truck made many children’s eyes light up, and he also had a little something for everyone.

The culinary palates of all guests were satisfied with bosna, raclette sandwiches or “Pofesen”, and the choice of drinks was also difficult for some market visitors. Who can decide between mulled wine, punch or mulled cider? They simply tried everything.

The Union Eggerding sports club was again responsible for the catering this year. A big thank you at this point to all the helpers in setting up, serving and dismantling the festival site.

The Christmas tree stand was very busy. Every employee was able to choose their own Christmas tree and take it home with them. A very special Christmas present, as many employees found.

Goosebumps guaranteed!

The performance of the “Auwoidteifen” from Obernberg was the highlight for the hard-boiled visitors here in Lambrechten.
For all the clever ones among us: the origins of the „Perchten“ go back to pagan customs and are closely linked to nature and fertility rituals. The name “Perchten” is probably inspired by the Middle High German word “beraht”, which means “radiant” or “bright”. In many traditions, the Perchten represent both good and evil and are often associated with driving out winter spirits to make way for the coming spring and new life. So much for that.
The Perchten run ended brilliantly with a firework display. The rest of the evening, however, was spent celebrating with colleagues, friends and family.
We therefore wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy and successful 2024!
